CUZ Scholars Participate in IAMCR 2025 Annual Conference in Singapore

On July 13, the 2025 Annual Conference of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) was held at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. As one of the four leading global associations in journalism and communication studies initiated by UNESCO in 1957, this year’s conference—under the theme “Communicating Environmental Justice: Many Voices, One Planet”—attracted nearly 1,000 scholars from over 150 countries.

Professor Cui Bo, Dean of the School of Publishing, Professor Ye Xin, Dr. Qin Xuan from the School of Journalism and Communication, and Dr. Fang Lingzhi from the School of Cultural Creativity and Management represented Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ) at the event and shared their research findings.

In the session on “Community, Participation and Environmental Communication”, Professor Cui Bo presented a paper titled Interaction of Environmental NGOs in Environmental Governance Agenda-setting: A Case Study of Green Zhejiang in Zhejiang Province of ChinaThe paper, which passed double-blind peer review with a high score, explored a four-way interaction model among government, media, the public, and enterprises, offering the international academic community a concrete insight into China’s practical wisdom in environmental governance.

Additionally, Professors Ye Xin, Qin Xuan, and Fang Lingzhi also presented their latest research contributions in related panels.

The collective presence of CUZ scholars at this year’s IAMCR conference highlighted the university’s growing research capacity in the field of environmental communication and contributed an important academic perspective on China’s environmental governance to the global discourse.
