On 10 November, a delegation from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), led by Associate Vice President Prof. Shirley Ho, visited Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ). President Wei Lu and Vice President Prof. Li Wenbing met with the delegation, accompanied by representatives from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and the School of Journalism and Communication.

President Wei Lu extended a warm welcome to Prof. Ho and her colleagues, and presented an overview of CUZ’s distinctive strengths and achievements in international development. He noted that NTU, as a world-leading university, holds a prominent global position in academic research, talent cultivation, and international collaboration. He expressed hopes that this visit would serve as a starting point for deeper cooperation between the two institutions in areas such as media discipline development, teaching and research collaboration, and social service innovation—achieving resource synergy and mutual benefit.

Vice President Li Wenbing introduced CUZ’s journalism and communication discipline framework, teaching reform accomplishments, and research directions. She expressed strong interest in advancing collaboration with NTU’s relevant colleges, and hoped that the two institutions could jointly contribute to nurturing globally minded media professionals.

Prof. Shirley Ho expressed sincere appreciation for CUZ’s warm reception and thoughtful arrangements. She noted that through on-site visits and discussions, she gained a deep understanding of CUZ’s strong media education foundation, robust practical training capacity, and distinctive academic character. She conveyed NTU’s strong willingness to collaborate and emphasized her commitment to facilitating future academic and institutional cooperation.

During the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on discipline development, teaching reform, research innovation, and international cooperation. Both sides shared their strategic visions and reached preliminary consensus in areas such as faculty and student exchanges and joint research.

During the visit, Prof. Ho delivered a well-received academic lecture titled “Communicating Innovation: Understanding and Cultivating Public Trust in an AI-Driven Future.” The lecture focused on public trust in the age of artificial intelligence and examined how societies can build and maintain trust mechanisms as technologies evolve rapidly. Her insights offered both theoretical depth and real-world relevance, sparking lively discussions among faculty and students.

Prof. Ho also visited CUZ’s China Research Center for Radio and Television Arts, the 4K E-Sports Integrated Laboratory, and the University History Museum, where she praised the university’s innovative approach to cultivating interdisciplinary talent and its strong model of industry–education integration.
