Vice President Yao Zheng Meets with Delegation from Dhurakij Pundit University, Thailand

On September 25, a delegation from Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), led by Vice President Dr. Siridech Kumsuprom, visited Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ). Vice President Yao Zheng warmly received the guests. Representatives from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation Division, the School of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, and School of International Education also attended the meeting.

Vice President Yao Zheng extended a warm welcome to Dr. Siridech Kumsuprom and his delegation and briefly introduced CUZ’s history, disciplinary strengths, talent cultivation model, and internationalization strategy. He emphasized that as one of China’s leading universities in the field of media and communication, CUZ is committed to openness and global cooperation. Recognizing DPU as one of Thailand’s most prestigious private universities, he highlighted the broad potential for collaboration between the two institutions in areas such as media studies, business education, and Chinese language teaching, expressing hopes that this meeting would deepen mutual understanding and lead to substantial cooperation outcomes.

Vice President Siridech Kumsuprom expressed his appreciation for CUZ’s warm hospitality and spoke highly of the university’s achievements in media education. He provided an overview of DPU’s history, academic strengths, and international development initiatives. Dr. Siridech Kumsuprom noted his strong desire to establish a long-term partnership with CUZ and proposed cooperation in areas such as joint research, faculty and student exchanges, academic forums, and short-term credit programs, aiming to create a more diverse platform for young people in both countries and cultivate global-minded professionals.

During the discussions, the two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on specific cooperation possibilities, reaching preliminary consensus on projects including student exchange programs, short-term study visits, faculty lectureships, collaborative research, joint international conferences and workshops, and dual-degree curriculum development.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the China Research Center for Radio and Television Arts, the School of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, and the School of International Education at CUZ.

Founded in 1968, Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU) is one of Thailand’s oldest and most reputable private universities, located in Bangkok. The university is well known for its strengths in business education and Chinese language teaching, ranking among the top ten private universities in Thailand. It is also one of the few institutions approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Education to offer degree programs taught in Chinese.
