On 26 May, Dr Cang Yuan, Vice President of the École Supérieure Libre d’art de Paris (ESLAP), led a delegation to visit the Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ). CUZ Vice President Professor Yao Zheng met with the delegation. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Office of the President of ESLAP,CUZ’s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), School of Animation and Digital Arts, and School of Design Arts.
Professor Yao warmly welcomed Dr Cang Yuan and his delegation, and briefly introduced CUZ’s history, disciplinary strengths, and international development. He noted that CUZ places great emphasis on international exchange and collaboration, and expressed hope for deepened cooperation with ESLAP in areas such as art education, academic research, and faculty and student exchange, to jointly advance innovative art education between China and France.
Dr Cang Yuan provided an overview of ESLAP’s educational philosophy, academic structure, and international partnerships. He highlighted the wide potential for collaboration between the two institutions in the field of art and design education. He expressed interest in strengthening cooperation through joint training programmes, artistic creation, academic seminars, and even emerging fields such as e-sports education, with the goal of achieving mutual benefit and shared growth.
During the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on practical matters including joint programme development, teacher and student exchanges, and art exhibitions. A preliminary agreement on future cooperation was reached, laying a strong foundation for further collaboration.
As part of the visit, Dr Cang Yuan delivered a lecture titled "Aesthetics – Aesthetic Discourse: Intercultural Dialogue from Chinese and French Perspectives" to CUZ students. He also toured the university’s 4K e-sports integrated laboratory, University History Museum, and the School of Animation and Digital Arts, including student exhibition areas. Dr Cang highly praised CUZ’s achievements in art education and creative practice.
