On the afternoon of March 6, a cultural exchange delegation from Venice, Italy, visited Communication University of Zhejiang (CUZ). The delegation included Ying Hong, President of the Marco Polo New Era Cultural Promotion Association; Baroldi Piergiorgio, President of the Paolo Rizzi Cultural Association of Italy; Ballarin Armando, former National President of SKÅL International Italy; and Serena Bertolucci, Director of the M9 Museum of the 20th Century, among others.
Vice Presidents Yao Zheng and Chen Bing met separately with the delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on promoting cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Italy. Representatives from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the Tongxiang Campus Administrative Committee, the School of Television and Audio-visual Arts (School of Documentary), the School of Literature, and the Huace School of Film accompanied the delegation during the visit and meetings.
Vice President Yao Zheng warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the university’s distinctive educational features and achievements in international development. He noted that the university attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation. With its long-standing cultural heritage and strong traditions in film, art, and media, Italy holds unique strengths in these fields. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to expand cooperation between the two sides in areas such as film and media production, academic research, and talent cultivation, further promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and Italy.

Vice President Chen Bing introduced the university’s development plans and concrete initiatives in media talent training, artistic creation, and international cooperative education. He highlighted the university’s achievements in interdisciplinary fields integrating film, literature, art, and technology. Chen noted that China and Italy enjoy broad prospects for cooperation in the cultural and artistic sectors. Venice, as a major cultural and artistic center in Italy, aligns closely with the university’s focus on media and arts education. He expressed the hope that this visit would mark the beginning of a long-term cooperation platform, enabling young people from both countries to deepen mutual understanding and consensus through cultural exchange while jointly promoting the dissemination and innovative development of Chinese and Italian culture and arts.

Baroldi Piergiorgio, President of the Paolo Rizzi Cultural Association of Italy, expressed sincere appreciation for the university’s warm reception and thoughtful arrangements. He said that through on-site visits and in-depth discussions, the delegation had truly experienced the strong academic atmosphere and practical training strengths of the university’s media education. He highly valued the significance of bilateral cooperation and expressed strong expectations for future collaboration in artistic creation, academic exchanges, and industry–education integration.

Ying Hong, President of the Marco Polo New Era Cultural Promotion Association, noted that the association has long served as an important bridge for cultural exchange between China and Italy. She emphasized that the organization is committed to promoting mutual learning between the two cultures and strengthening people-to-people exchanges. Building on this visit, she hopes to further integrate resources and expand cooperation channels to facilitate practical collaboration between the university and Italian institutions in areas such as cultural communication, film projects, and youth exchanges, opening a new chapter in China–Italy cultural cooperation.

Feng Yu, President of the Feng Zikai Research Association, introduced the artistic achievements, literary accomplishments, and life story of the renowned Chinese artist Feng Zikai, highlighting the Eastern aesthetic and humanistic spirit embodied in his works. He noted that the association and Communication University of Zhejiang have jointly established the Feng Zikai Research Center at the university. He expressed hope that this exchange would help further promote Feng Zikai’s cultural and artistic legacy in Italy and expand cooperation in artistic promotion and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, representatives from relevant schools and departments introduced their academic programs, disciplinary strengths, and potential areas for collaboration, proposing cooperation with Italian partners in fields such as film production, art and technology, and literature. Members of the Italian delegation also shared their institutional resources and expressed interest in collaboration in project co-creation and talent exchange.

During their visit, the delegation also toured the China Research Center for Radio and Television Arts and the University History Museum, gaining deeper insight into the university’s development and achievements. They expressed strong appreciation for the university’s efforts in preserving and promoting broadcasting and television arts and culture.
