CUZ-VUW joint project approved by the Ministrty of Education

CUZ and VUW New Zealand is to jointly nurture high-quality cross-cultural communication talents

China’s Ministry of Education has recently announced the evaluation results of the national colleges and universities applying for Sino-foreign cooperative education projects in the second half of 2020. The communication studies undergraduate education project jointly held by CUZ and Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) New Zealand has been successfully approved (project approval number: MOE33NZ2A20212134N). Totally, 51 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects at undergraduate and above level have been approved this time, and CUZ is the only approved in Zhejiang Province.

Enrolling 100 students nationwide every year, with a four-year schooling period, the project will rely on CUZ’s existing platform and foundation of professional training, and will nurture high-quality cross-cultural communication talents with strong English language skills who are willing to get engaged in international film and television communication, international news compilation and communication network through the introduction of VUW’s courses, textbooks, teachers and advanced educational philosophy, and cross-cultural communication consciousness.This project is included in the national general higher education enrollment plan and participates in the national general higher education entrance examination. Students in the project who meet all course learning requirements and relevant graduation requirements will be awarded CUZ’s bachelor's degree certificate and VUW’s bachelor's degree certificate.

 

 

The Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand was founded in 1897 and teaching began in April 1899 with 115 students enrolled in the first year. It is a large-scale public comprehensive university with three major urban campuses in Wellington. It ranks No.1 in New Zealand's comprehensive academic research quality in the PBRF academic research results and performance evaluation. In the 2019 QS World University Teaching Excellence Assessment, VUW was rated as a satellite-level in overall teaching quality, and was rated as a five-star in QS's eight assessment categories, and its comprehensive strength ranked third in New Zealand. Ranking in the top 2% of 18,000 universities worldwide. In the 2019 QS Global Rankings, Victoria University of Wellington has 13 majors in the world's top 100, with communication and media being one of its strengths.
